IMT Management Pays Advocacy Visit to the Attorney General

The Acting Rector of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Dr. Emeka Patrick Ejim, led a management team in an advocacy visit to Attorney General Dr. Kingsley Ude. The meeting focused on enhancing collaboration, embracing digital transformation, and reviewing the Institute's founding laws to align with current needs.

The management of the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), led by Acting Rector Dr. Emeka Patrick Ejim, recently conducted an advocacy visit to the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kingsley Ude. The visit aimed to foster engagement and collaboration with the Ministry, recognizing its role as a key stakeholder in the Institute's ongoing transformation efforts.

During the meeting, Dr. Ejim highlighted the purpose of the visit as an opportunity to interact with the Ministry and benefit from its experience, given the significant advancements underway. He expressed the Institute’s intention to align more closely with the Ministry’s initiatives.

Attorney General Dr. Ude welcomed the visit and acknowledged the Ministry’s ongoing collaboration with IMT, particularly through Dr. Chinwe Ezeme, who addresses legal matters related to the Institute. He emphasized that education remains a priority for the current administration and stressed IMT’s central role in this focus.

Dr. Ude advised the IMT management to surpass the achievements of their predecessors and set new standards in the education sector. He encouraged the Institute to lead by example rather than merely follow, particularly in embracing digital transformation to align with the e-governance agenda. He recommended that IMT work with the Governor’s Special Adviser on Digital Transformation to expedite this process.

Additionally, the Attorney General suggested a review of the law establishing the Institute to ensure it reflects current needs and realities. “Operating under outdated policies hinders transformative progress,” he noted.

In closing, Dr. Ifeanyi Ojobor, Director of Academic Planning, expressed gratitude to Dr. Ude for the opportunity to engage and for his valuable insights, which will guide the Institute’s future endeavors.
