Describing SIWES as a bold federal government initiative to bridge theoretical learning with practical skills in Nigeria's tertiary institutions, Ajagbe urged participants to maximize the knowledge gained during their training to enhance their career prospects. She outlined the program's operational framework, noting that university students will undergo six months of industrial attachment, while those from polytechnics and colleges of education, including AFUED's NCE students, will participate for four months.

Ajagbe advised students to uphold responsible behavior, serving as positive ambassadors for their institution, and to adhere strictly to safety protocols at placement sites. This emphasis on professionalism, she added, ensures the scheme's success and aligns with ITF's mission to build a skilled workforce for national development.

Mr. Fabamise Adedeji, another ITF official from the Akure office, reinforced the call for discipline, detailing the scheme's code of conduct, which includes dedication, faithfulness, loyalty, honesty, punctuality, and compliance with organizational rules—particularly regarding machinery and equipment use. He warned that ITF monitors would not tolerate truancy or misconduct, as such actions could jeopardize the program's smooth execution.

In his welcome address, AFUED SIWES Coordinator Dr. A.A. Akinkuolie thanked the university management for its support and commended departmental coordinators and supervisors for their collaboration. He advised students to give their best, reminding them that SIWES is a mandatory graduation requirement, and encouraged proactive engagement to reap maximum benefits from the experience.
