The Student Union Government of the University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has issued a directive requiring all students and student associations to notify and obtain approval from the Directorate of Health, Environment & Welfare before organizing any health-related events on campus.

Signed by Comr. Eme Bassey, Director of Health, Environment & Welfare, the directive applies to activities such as health outreaches, medical screenings, awareness campaigns, and other initiatives promoting student well-being.

The university emphasized that this measure ensures proper coordination, compliance with institutional and health regulations, and the safety of participants. The Directorate also expressed readiness to collaborate with students and groups seeking to advance health and welfare programs on campus.
Students and associations have been cautioned that unauthorized activities or those not communicated within the required timeframe may not be recognized or permitted.
The university urged all students to comply fully in order to foster a safer and healthier campus environment.
