The Kogi State Polytechnic Muslim Staff Welfare Scheme successfully held its 2026 Post-Ramadan Public Lecture on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the institution's Main Campus in Lokoja. The event brought together scholars, staff, and students to discuss sustaining the physical and spiritual gains of the holy month.

Dr. Abdussalam Abdulrahman of the Federal Teaching Hospital, Lokoja, delivered a lecture titled “Ramadan Fasting and Human Health: Preserving the Medical Gains Beyond the Month.” He provided practical advice on maintaining healthy lifestyle choices and metabolic discipline after the fasting period.

Dr. Shaykh Muhammad Saleeh from Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, spoke on “Beyond Ramadan: Sustaining Spiritual Discipline in Building an Ideal Muslim Home,” emphasizing that a home rooted in the Qur’an and Sunnah must be nurtured with love and moral responsibility.

The Rector and Chief Host, Professor Salihu Sanusi Avidime, lauded the Welfare Scheme for promoting unity and moral values within the Polytechnic. He urged participants to translate the lessons of Ramadan into daily actions that foster community development and healthy living.

The President of the Scheme, Arc. Isah Obenege Suleiman, expressed gratitude to the Rector for his unwavering support and noted that the lecture series remains a vital platform for intellectual and spiritual engagement.

Contributing to the discourse, Shaykh Justice Saidu Isah Okino (Kadi, Sharia Court of Appeal) and the Chairman of the occasion, Honourable Justice Siyaka Momoh-Jimoh Usman, both reinforced the need for resilience and the practical application of Islamic virtues in family life and the wider society.

The event concluded with a strong call for the Muslim community to uphold the discipline of Ramadan as a year-round commitment to excellence and character.
