Lagos State University Initiates Tuition Fee Refund for NELFUND Beneficiaries

Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced refunding tuition fees to students who were approved as beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) for the 2024/2025 academic session.

The refunds apply to students who had already paid their fees before the university received the official loan disbursements from NELFUND.

The refund process, handled by the university's Bursary Unit, began on June 4 and is being processed based on the account details provided by students in their refund requests. NELFUND has also updated its online portal to reflect the actual tuition fees credited to LASU on behalf of each student.

This development has brought relief to many students who were concerned about paying out of pocket despite being approved for the student loan. The refund initiative marks a positive step in the ongoing collaboration between universities and the loan scheme aimed at making education more accessible and affordable.
