LASU Warns Against Fraudulent "National Image Scholarship Scheme" and Disassociates from Dubious Admissions
The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has issued a public warning disassociating itself from a fraudulent scheme operated by individuals and organizations under the name "National Image Scholarship Scheme."
The management of Lagos State University (LASU) has issued a public warning disassociating itself from a fraudulent scheme operated by individuals and organizations under the name "National Image Scholarship Scheme." The scheme falsely claims to offer "tuition-free scholarships" through a purported affiliate, "Lagos State University, Ifo Campus," and asks prospective students to pay a sum of money to access these offers.
In an official statement released by LASU, the university made it clear that it has no affiliation with the "National Image Scholarship Scheme" and has not authorized any entity to offer admissions on its behalf. LASU categorically stated the following:
- LASU does not have any connection with the "National Image" group, nor does it admit students through such schemes.
- The university operates solely from its three official campuses located in Ojo, Ikeja, and Epe, as well as its School of Basic and Advanced Studies in Badagry.
- LASU's only recognized affiliation in Ifo is with the Royal College of Education, Ifo, specifically for the Sandwich Degree Programme.
- All LASU admissions are conducted exclusively through the Joint Admissions & Matriculation Board (JAMB) and the university's internal admission process.
The university urged prospective students and the general public to avoid falling victim to these fraudulent schemes, stressing that LASU will not be responsible for any financial losses incurred by individuals who engage with these entities.
For accurate admission information, LASU advises the public to rely solely on its official website, www.lasu.edu.ng, and verified social media platforms for updates and inquiries.
The statement serves as a stern reminder to students and parents to verify all admission offers to avoid being exploited by scammers.
