Delivering the keynote address, the Vice-Chancellor emphasized that disciplined study habits and effective time management are critical to both academic success and lifelong achievement. The Vice-Chancellor urged students to prioritize education, personal development, and character, noting that time is the only resource equally available to all and that success depends on how it is used. He reminded students that they are defined not by past failures but by the choices they make daily, encouraging them to apply the principles discussed to their academic and personal lives.

In his welcome address, Acting Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Kayode O. Olumurewa, highlighted the university’s commitment to holistic student development. While noting that the Directorate is often associated with regulation and discipline, he emphasized that its primary focus is supporting students’ welfare, academic success, and personal growth. He also encouraged students to utilize the Guidance and Counselling Unit’s services, stressing that seeking support is a sign of wisdom.
