In a bid to consolidate progress and strengthen institutional performance, the Management of McPherson University has held a strategic meeting with staff members to review past achievements and outline priorities for the new academic session.

The session, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Francis Igbasan, alongside the Acting Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, and the University Librarian, Dr. Jerome Idiegbeyan-Ose, reflected on the university’s growth trajectory and reaffirmed its commitment to excellence, staff welfare, and innovation.
In his address, Professor Igbasan expressed deep appreciation to the entire workforce for their loyalty and dedication, describing them as “destiny helpers” whose collective efforts have driven the university’s steady rise.
Highlighting key milestones, the Vice-Chancellor announced that McPherson University had surpassed its enrollment target with 1,010 new students matriculated against the projected 1,000. He also disclosed that six major construction projects are nearing completion and will be commissioned soon.
Among these projects are a multipurpose hall donated by a benefactor, to be inaugurated by the University’s Visitor and General Overseer, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji; a fully equipped University Health Centre funded by a philanthropist; a 500-capacity lecture theatre; and the second phase of the university cafeteria sponsored by the Parents Consultative Forum.

Professor Igbasan further commended students for achieving a 100% pass rate in all professional examinations during the 2024/2025 academic session, describing the feat as a reflection of academic rigor and effective mentorship.
Reassuring staff of management’s continued focus on welfare, he revealed that salaries have been increased by 65%, with plans to raise them to 75% before the end of his tenure. He also announced that staff quarters would soon be constructed to ease accommodation challenges, underscoring the university’s commitment to a supportive and enabling work environment.
Looking forward, the Vice-Chancellor outlined plans to introduce new academic programmes, complete the revised staff handbook, and commence the construction of a College of Law, while targeting an enrollment of 2,000 students for the current academic year.

The interactive meeting provided a platform for open dialogue, allowing staff to share insights and suggestions on institutional advancement. It concluded on an uplifting note of unity, optimism, and shared purpose—signaling McPherson University’s resolve to sustain its momentum as a centre of academic excellence and moral distinction.
