Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, has implemented a new academic probation policy aimed at ensuring academic excellence and student success. According to the university's regulations, any student whose Cumulative Grade Point Average (C.G.P.A.) falls below 1.00 at the end of an academic year will be placed on probation for one academic year.

During the probation period, the affected student is required to repeat and successfully pass the courses in which they did not meet the required standards. This intervention is designed to provide students with an opportunity to improve their academic performance and meet the university's academic standards.

"If at the end of the probationary period the student still fails to achieve the minimum C.G.P.A. of 1.00, they will be required to withdraw from the university for one academic year," the school management stated.

"During this period of withdrawal, the student may apply for readmission; however, readmission is not guaranteed and is subject to a review process."
