MTN Foundation Extends Scholarship Application Deadline for Visually Impaired Students

MTN Nigeria has extended the application deadline for its 2024 Foundation Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students. The application is open to blind students in the 200 & 300 levels in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions, which includes Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education. However, for blind students studying Law, a 5-year course, only 300 level students are eligible to apply for the MTN Scholarship.

MTN Foundation Extends Scholarship Application Deadline for Visually Impaired Students

MTN Nigeria has extended the application deadline for its 2024 Foundation Scholarship Scheme for Blind Students. The new deadline is now set for June 19th, 2024.

The MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme, which is an annual program, offers an award amount of N300,000. This award will be renewed each year until graduation, provided the recipients meet the necessary grade requirements.

The scholarship scheme is designed to provide financial assistance to students who might otherwise be unable to afford their tertiary education. It also aims to recognize and reward academic excellence among these students.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must be students of a public tertiary institution and dependent on Braille.
  • Blind students in the Universities or Colleges of Education must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5.
  • 2nd or 3rd year full-time undergraduates in public universities and colleges of education studying disciplines other than Law must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5.
  • Blind students in Public Polytechnics must have a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.0 from the Ordinary National Diploma (OND) Program and must have secured admission into the Higher National Diploma (HND) Program.
  • Full-time Polytechnic undergraduates in ND2, HND2 should possess a minimum CGPA of 2.0 in ND 1 result and HND1 result, and an admission letter into HND1 with ND2 result.

The scholarships will be renewed for the existing students who have maintained a minimum of 2.5 for universities and colleges of education and 2.0 for polytechnic students.
