NOGALSS to Empower Out-of-School Children with Digital Skills Nationwide

The Non-Governmental Association for Literacy Support Services (NOGALSS) has committed to equipping out-of-school children with digital skills.

NOGALSS National President Noah Emmanuel announced this initiative in Abuja during a stakeholders and consultative meeting on the GCE-NOGALSS-GIZ project. Emmanuel stated that the project aims to transform lives and lay a foundation for sustainable development.

The initiative targets approximately 180 beneficiaries in each state across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones, including Taraba, Kano, Imo, Akwa-Ibom, Oyo, and Abuja. Emmanuel emphasized the need for greater collaboration to reach more children, urging stakeholders to pool resources and expertise to expand the program’s impact.

Abdulmalik Bello, Assistant Director at the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), confirmed that NITDA would provide digital infrastructure support for the project. Hope Ochei, a representative from the Federal Ministry of Education, praised the NOGALSS initiative and reiterated the ministry’s commitment to supporting it through various digital platforms and resources.
