In an extraordinary accomplishment, 12-year-old Jeremy Shuler has made history by gaining admission to study Applied Physics and Engineering at Cornell University in New York, becoming the youngest-ever student admitted to the prestigious institution.

Born to Aerospace Engineer parents, Jeremy's exceptional intellect was evident from an early age, as he fluently read by the age of 2. By 11, he taught himself chemistry and earned an online high school diploma. Despite being homeschooled, Jeremy faced challenges securing research opportunities due to child labor laws and liability concerns.

Jeremy and his mother, Harrey Shuler, shared the difficulties they encountered in finding professors willing to engage with him in research. However, Jeremy was fortunate to collaborate on computer simulation work, eliminating the need for lab-based research.

Embarking on his academic journey at Cornell University, Jeremy, guided by his interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM), decided to pursue physics during his sophomore year.

"I had always loved math, especially number theory since I was five, and I liked the physics that my mom taught me. By the time when I became a sophomore, I decided I would study physics," Jeremy explained.

At the age of 16, Jeremy achieved a remarkable milestone by graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Applied and Engineering Physics. Even before his graduation, he secured acceptance into a competitive PhD program in theoretical particle physics at the University of Maryland, College Park, United States. Jeremy is set to become a Doctor of Philosophy at the age of 21.
