Skyline University Nigeria conducts Pocket MBA for its Alumni

The management of Skyline University Nigeria (SUN) has on Saturday 22nd April 2024, conducted a Pocket MBA for its alumni.

The session was conducted at the university’s conference room to retrain the alumni on necessary skills for professional development.

 

In his opening remarks Mr. Lawi Abdullahi Isa, assistant marketing manager at SUN, said the session was specifically curated for the students to rekindle the knowledge they had during their undergraduate years. He added that the program was also necessary to enable the alumni to network with one another for future engagements.

Speaking during the occasion, Ms. Sarada Maganti, the Director of Public and Government Relations, said it was amazing to have the students back on campus for in-depth discussions on professional development. She added that the knowledge students will gain will be highly beneficial to them in their professional work.

The session themed ‘Strategic Intelligence Leadership, Etiquette Development and Work Management’, was delivered by Dr. Sudha Mavuri, the Dean School of Arts, Management and Social Sciences (SAMSS), Dr. Ajayi Olumide, the Head of the Department of General Studies and Mr. Trimisiyyu Lawal, the Head of Students Service Department.

Dr. Olumide while delivering his topic ‘Etiquette Development and Work Management’ stated that routines are very important at work. He emphasized that having daily habits that ethically align with workplace ethics is what collaboratively enables employees to earn repute in their workplaces. He added that good etiquettes help workers manage their tasks and time effectively for better results.

Dr. Mavuri and Mr. Lawal collaboratively delivered a session on ‘Strategic Intelligence Leadership’. They highlighted the necessity of possessing emotional management skills for organizational success. They thoroughly explained that today’s work spaces are diverse which compels staff to seek knowledge that would enable them to understand their colleagues and management better. 

 

Mr. Tahir Kakangi, a marketing officer at SUN, while delivering the closing remarks said, that the institution is set to support the professional journeys of its alumni through the Pocket MBA sessions that will keep them well-informed with global best practices.
