Strike: WAEC Exams Continue, State Hospitals Open, Banks and MDAs Shut Down in Kaduna

The nationwide strike called by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) has led to the closure of commercial banks and government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) in Kaduna. However, state-owned hospitals and WAEC exam centers remain operational.

Despite the strike, hospitals like Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital and Yusuf Dantsoho Hospital continue to provide medical services. Although nurses were not in their usual uniforms, they, along with doctors, were on duty and attending to patients. In contrast, federal hospitals such as the National Ear Care Centre and National Eye Centre were closed to outpatients.
