The Nasarawa State Police Command has rescued students abducted from the Engineering Faculty of Nasarawa State University and arrested two suspects connected to the kidnapping. The suspects, Abdullahi Yeyi Haro and Basiru Abdullahi, were arrested during intelligence-led operations in Gudi community. Police identified Haro as the alleged leader of the kidnapping syndicate responsible for the attack. According to police spokesperson Rahman Nansel, the arrests followed coordinated investigations and tactical operations aimed at dismantling the criminal network. The rescued students have reunited with their families and are receiving medical care and support. Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed praised officers involved in the operation and assured residents that efforts were ongoing to arrest other fleeing suspects.

Security operatives in Nasarawa State have successfully rescued students abducted from the Engineering Faculty of Nasarawa State University’s Gudi campus, while two key suspects linked to the kidnapping operation have been arrested.

The Nasarawa State Police Command confirmed that the suspects, identified as Abdullahi Yeyi Haro and Basiru Abdullahi, were apprehended during intelligence-led operations carried out within the Gudi community. Authorities described Haro as the alleged leader of the kidnapping syndicate believed to be responsible for the attack on the students.

According to a statement released on Tuesday b y the Police Public Relations Officer, Rahman Nansel, the arrests were the result of “diligent investigation and sustained intelligence-coordinated tactical and strategic operations” aimed at dismantling the criminal network behind the abduction.

The police also confirmed that the kidnapped students had regained their freedom and reunited with their families. Following their release, the victims are reportedly receiving medical attention and psychological support to help them recover from the traumatic experience.

Commending the officers involved in the operation, the Commissioner of Police, Shetima Jauro Mohammed, praised their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to protecting lives and maintaining security across the state.
