The Vice Chancellor of the University of Delta, Agbor (UNIDEL), Prof. Stella Chiemeke, has been lauded for her visionary leadership and remarkable contributions to the development of the university’s Staff Model Secondary School.
The commendation came from the Principal of Staff Model (Senior) Secondary School, Pastor Festus Onyibe, while receiving a new set of chairs recently provided for Senior Secondary Two (SS 2) classrooms. He described the gesture as another demonstration of the Vice Chancellor’s unwavering commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community service, which has placed the school among the best in Delta State.

“I am overwhelmed today because Prof. Chiemeke has again fulfilled her promise of providing more chairs for our laboratories. I am optimistic that more equipment will soon be supplied to strengthen practical learning,” Onyibe said. He further appreciated the dedication of staff members, urging them to remain committed, as the University Management maintains zero tolerance for indiscipline and indolence.
In his remarks, the Supervisor for Special Education, Mr. Louis Okoh, noted that the school’s positive outlook was also a result of Pastor Onyibe’s sterling leadership. He highlighted the Principal’s practice of rewarding hardworking staff and outstanding students, which has inspired commitment and excellence within the school community. Okoh, however, appealed to the University Management to provide additional chairs and tables for staff.
Speaking on behalf of the students, the prefect of SS 2A, Miss Gift Oduma, expressed gratitude to the University Management for creating a conducive learning environment. She appealed for more sports equipment and enhanced laboratory resources to further enrich students’ academic and extracurricular experience.

The commendations reflect the growing recognition of Prof. Chiemeke’s impact, as her leadership continues to strengthen the institution’s commitment to quality education and holistic development.
