The notice expresses concern over the pressure on students to secure private hostel accommodation, which violates university rules and ethics. While acknowledging the need for timely settlement and student safety, the SUG warns against the exploitation of students through extortion.

- Private hostel application forms should not exceed N1,000.

- Students who have paid for bedspaces should demand a refund or forfeit the payment.

- Report any intimidation by hostel staff to the Student Affairs Unit or Students' Union.

- Approved hostel rates for the next academic session will be released soon, based on categorization, services, and facilities available.

- High-energy consuming items are banned to reduce electricity consumption.
