Veritas University Launches Digital Skills Initiative to Combat Youth Unemployment

Veritas University, Bwari, Abuja, has initiated a digital skills training and business pitch program aimed at addressing youth unemployment. Since the program's inception, 1,230 participants have been trained and certified.
The initiative, led by Project Leader Gabriel Egbe, is part of the World Bank-sponsored Innovation, Development, and Effectiveness in the Acquisition of Skills (IDEAS) program, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education. Egbe noted the program's focus on equipping trainees with essential digital skills to thrive in the global digital economy.

National Project Coordinator of IDEAS, Blessing Ogwu, praised Veritas University for its successful implementation of the program, underscoring the importance of relevant skills for national development. Special Guest Amb. Martin Uhomoibhi commended the university's efforts and encouraged Nigerian youths to embrace digital skills to align with global trends.
