ZUBEB Chairman Commends UNICEF and UBEC Partnership on Basic Education

The Executive Chairman of Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board (ZUBEB), Professor Nasiru Garba Anka, has expressed appreciation for the collaborative efforts of UBEC Abuja and UNICEF in the successful implementation of a basic education project in the state.

Professor Nasiru Anka commended UBEC Abuja and UNICEF during the flagging off ceremony of the distribution of learning, teaching, and instructional materials to public primary and junior secondary schools in the state, held today in Gusau.

He acknowledged that the learning materials were generously supplied by Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Abuja and UNICEF, emphasizing their contribution to the state's education sector.

"The provision of Teaching and Learning Materials to Pupils in Public Primary and Junior Secondary Schools will undoubtedly contribute to the successful implementation of the basic education project," stated Professor Anka.

He highlighted the significance of basic education in increasing access to safe, inclusive learning, and skills development opportunities, particularly for vulnerable children and adolescents in Zamfara State.

Furthermore, Professor Anka emphasized the value of collaboration and partnership with UBEC Abuja and UNICEF, citing various capacity-building initiatives and training workshops conducted in collaboration with the two organizations.

He disclosed that the recent engagement with UBEC Abuja and UNICEF included training workshops for ECCDE teachers, strengthening teachers' English proficiency, Joly Phonics training for P1 teachers, effective school leadership workshops for headteachers, and strengthening Mathematics and Science Education.

In her remarks during the flag-off ceremony, Dr. Rabiatu Musa Mafara, a permanent member of ZUBEB, expressed gratitude to the Zamfara State Government, UBEC Abuja, and UNICEF for their support in providing the necessary funds for the project.

She urged continued technical and financial support from UBEC Abuja and UNICEF for the upliftment of education in Zamfara State, emphasizing the importance of collaboration in advancing the state's education agenda.
