Agboyi-Ketu LCDA Chairman Provides Free 2024 GCE Forms to 200 Students

The Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) in Lagos State, Dele Oshinowo, has generously distributed the 2024 General Certificate Examination (GCE) forms to 200 students within the LCDA. This initiative aims to bolster the waning interest in education among young Nigerians and to support families grappling with economic difficulties.

Addressing the community through her deputy, Folake Kayode, at the council secretariat on Wednesday, the council’s supervisor for education emphasized the crucial role of education in nation-building. Kayode said, “As it is our custom to improve and create better opportunities for the indigent persons within the Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, I hereby stand before you today with great pride and joy to announce an initiative by our administration. As your council chairman, it is my pleasure to declare that we will be providing free GCE forms to all indigenes of our community.”

Kayode further explained that the initiative seeks to alleviate the financial burden on families and empower youth to achieve their potential. “Education is the bedrock of development, and we recognize the financial constraints faced by many of our people. That is the reason for this; this initiative is aimed at alleviating some of that burden and empowering our youths to reach their full potential.”

He also called on parents and community leaders to support their children both morally and spiritually, stressing that a well-trained child ensures a secure future. “I am appealing to us all, parents, community, and leaders to please give our children the best. A well-trained child is a guarantee for a secure tomorrow,” Oshinowo said.

Mrs. Edunoluwa Olufade, the council’s Special Adviser on Education and Students Affairs, assured that there was no discrimination in the distribution of the forms. She highlighted that the chairman’s primary interest is in making a positive impact on the lives of students.
