Owing to mounting grievances from students and parents regarding the recent Preliminary Test Sessions (PTS) examinations for nursing schools under its jurisdiction, the Abia State Government issued a statement acknowledging the concerns and pledging a thorough investigation into the alleged corruption and process distortions surrounding the admissions process.
The administration, known for its commitment to responsiveness and citizen sensitivity, expressed serious concern over the allegations of bribery and irregularities raised by affected students and their parents. In a bid to address the matter transparently, the government emphasized the need for concrete evidence to substantiate the accusations.
Government officials, who engaged with protesting students and parents in front of the Abia State Government House in Umuahia on Thursday, directed the aggrieved parties to submit formal petitions to His Excellency, Governor Dr. Alex C. Otti, OFR. The petitions are expected to outline the issues in detail and provide reliable, foolproof evidence to support the claims. The Office of the Chief of Staff to the Governor has been designated as the recipient of these petitions.
The government assured the public that all allegations would be meticulously investigated, and those accused would be given an opportunity to present their side of the story. Emphasizing a commitment to a transparent and sincere administration, Governor Alex Otti has unequivocally stated that no illegitimate requests purportedly coming from him should be honored.
