The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Dr. Stephen Terungwa Hwande, has called on newly admitted students of the BSUTH Institute of Health and Technology to prioritize hard work and commitment in their academic pursuits. Dr. Hwande made this appeal during the orientation ceremony for the incoming students, assuring them of the institution's support in fostering a conducive learning environment.

During his address, Dr. Hwande emphasized that the BSUTH management, under his leadership, is dedicated to ensuring that students are provided with resources that will enhance their education. He announced plans to introduce internet services for both staff and students, with further expansion of academic programs on the horizon. Notably, the institute plans to launch nursing postgraduate programs in specialized fields such as Peri-Operative Nursing, Accident and Emergency Care, Ophthalmic Nursing, Psychiatry, Paediatrics, and Nephrology.

Dr. James Terwase Ihongo, the Provost of the Institute, also commended the CMD and Governor Hyacinth Alia for their ongoing efforts to strengthen the healthcare sector in Benue State. He acknowledged the critical role the institute plays in training mid-level healthcare professionals, which is essential for staffing primary healthcare centers across the state. Dr. Ihongo reassured students that all necessary measures had been taken to ensure a smooth academic session, including the hiring of highly qualified faculty.

Expressing their enthusiasm, newly admitted students such as Thomas Nyom and Moses Antyam conveyed their gratitude for the opportunity and anticipation for the commencement of lectures.
