A digital entrepreneur and official of the Mind-the-Gap project, Femi Ilori has urged members of the NYSC 2023 batch 'A' stream 1 to maximize their service year by learning digital skills.
Myschoolnews reports he said this whilst speaking during Mind-the-Gap programme at the NYSC Lagos Orientation Camp in Iyana-Ipaja.
Mr. Ilori said noted acquisition of digital skills in the 21st century will improve the professional and business chances of corps members, even after service year.
He therefore emphasized the need for corps members to have a professional presence online to boost their employability chances.
He said that contrary to what many youths think, today, the digital space goes beyond WhatsApp and Instagram.
He also highlighted the need for corps members to belong to the social media platform, LinkedIn and optimize their page to attract potential employers.
As part of the event, a debate competition tagged 'Digital Literacy, Employability and Leadership in the 21st Century,' was organized for the corps members with Platoon 7 emerging winners after a keenly contested debate among representatives from the 10 platoons in camp.
Platoon 9 and 8 came second and third respectively.
