Federal University Lokoja (FUL), Vice-Chancellor Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi speak at a gathering with the theme "Kogi Unity Beyond 2023 Governorship Election" in Kabba, Kogi State.

The attention of the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University Lokoja, Professor Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi has been drawn to an alleged invitation to speak at a gathering with the theme "Kogi Unity Beyond 2023 Governorship Election" in Kabba, Kogi State.

It is necessary to draw the attention of the public to this false and misleading information that is already in the public domain and also to inform members of the University Community that the aforementioned invitation is completely untrue because neither the Vice-Chancellor nor his office was ever contacted for any public speaking engagement.

Furthermore, it is equally important to state unequivocally that Professor Olayemi Akinwumi is a public officer and would NOT want to be drawn unnecessarily into the murky waters of partisan politics NOR be adorned with its garment.

The Vice-Chancellor remains committed to the task of developing the Federal University Lokoja as a reputable global citadel of learning and a center of academic excellence - a job he is strongly committed to with clear evidence of unparalleled achievements so far.

It is highly ridiculous, embarrassing, and insulting to drag the unblemished personality and character of a renowned academic and Chief Executive like Professor Akinwumi into being part of such a project, especially for the fact that the organizers of such an event have never even attempted to contact him or his public affairs managers.
