FULafia and SEDI Minna Partner on Research, Technology Transfer, and Capacity Building
The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) and Science Equipment Development Institute (SEDI), Minna, Nigeria State, have resolved to bolster their ties in the areas of research, technology transfer and capacity building.
This development followed a strategic meeting held at the Office of Vice-Chancellor of the University, recently.
The SEDI delegation to the meeting was led by the organisation's Chief Executive Officer, Engr Jafaru O. Mahmud.
Discussions during the meeting focused on SEDI’s capacity to produce locally made science, engineering and agricultural equipment.
The meeting also discussed training programmes, workshops and internships to enhance students’ technical skills.

A formal partnership arrangement, the meeting agreed, would be entered into by the two bodies and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) would be signed.
The visit also featured a tour of the FULafia’s Muhammadu Buhari TETFund Centre of Excellence, where the SEDI delegation was taken round the facility and exposed to the state-of-the-art research equipment available at the centre.
