On September 23, 2024, the Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) hosted a one-day programme aimed at enhancing the leadership skills of its top management. The event, held at the Old Senate Chamber, brought together principal officers, provosts, deans, and directors of the institution for a series of presentations.

The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Shehu Abdul Rahman, presented a thought-provoking paper titled “Working with Emotional Intelligence.” In his presentation, Prof. Rahman highlighted the importance of understanding and managing emotions in the workplace to improve leadership and team performance. He emphasized that emotional intelligence is crucial for fostering a positive work environment and enhancing interpersonal relationships among staff.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Ali Ishaq Shugaba, delivered a paper titled “Effective Stress Management.” Prof. Shugaba discussed various strategies for managing stress in demanding academic and administrative roles. He encouraged participants to adopt healthy coping mechanisms to maintain a balanced work-life routine and ensure continued productivity.
