The Lagos branch of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association has donated office equipment worth four million naira to the university’s Registry, aimed at enhancing administrative operations.

 In a generous act of support, the Lagos branch of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) Alumni Association has donated office equipment valued at four million naira to the institution’s Registry, enhancing the university’s administrative operations. The donation, consisting of high-performance scanners, a photocopier, a high-speed printer, and HP all-in-one desktops, was formally received by the university's Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adenike Oladiji, represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Timothy Amos, alongside key officials and alumni representatives on November 12, 2024.

Expressing gratitude on behalf of the university, Professor Oladiji praised the FUTA Alumni for their longstanding dedication and commitment. "The Lagos branch has once again demonstrated that the FUTA spirit is one of giving back and uplifting. This donation will significantly enhance our administrative functions, contributing to our service delivery and operational efficiency,” she remarked.

The donation was coordinated by Mr. Emmanuel Fambegbe, Secretary of the Lagos branch, with support from other alumni. Fambegbe emphasized the Alumni Association's dedication to advancing the institution’s capabilities, promising that similar contributions would become an annual tradition. "FUTA has given us a foundation to excel in our respective careers, and we are determined to give back in any way possible. This equipment is a testament to our belief in FUTA's vision and our commitment to supporting its growth,” he added.

The Registrar, Mr. Charles Adeleye, applauded the donation, describing it as a noble and impactful gesture. “This equipment will strengthen our Registry’s operations, particularly within the Directorate of Establishment and Human Resources,” he noted. Mr. Bayo Akinduyile, head of the Directorate of Establishment and Human Resources, echoed the Registrar's sentiments, expressing optimism that the contribution would inspire additional alumni support for FUTA. He praised the university's leadership for fostering a collaborative environment that encourages such partnerships.

Leading the Alumni delegation, the National Vice President, Mrs. Bukola Ola-Salawu, attended alongside prominent Lagos branch members, including Pastor Victor Akporherhe, Isiaq Okeyode, Nadege Millogo, and Ayomide Arowolo.
