Speaking at the 2024 Labour Colloquium organized by the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities (SSANU), Professor Oladiji underscored the potential of the student loan scheme to facilitate access to education, provided it is effectively executed.
The Student Loan Bill, initiated by the Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives and current Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, was enacted into law by President Bola Tinubu in June 2023. This legislation aims to provide interest-free loans to financially disadvantaged Nigerian students, thereby easing their path to higher education through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund.

Addressing attendees at the colloquium, which took place at FUTA, Professor Oladiji stressed the importance of examining the student loan scheme to ensure that the repayment process is manageable for students.
