FUTMinna Suspends Cultural Activities, Issues New Guidelines for Student Events
The University Management has announced the suspension of all cultural activities organized by student socio-cultural associations on campus for a period of two years.
The decision, effective immediately, follows growing concerns over the influx of external persons during cultural day events, which have raised significant security and administrative issues.
In a circular released by the institution, Management emphasized that the suspension was aimed at safeguarding the security and well-being of the University community.
Going forward, all student events and activities must be vetted and approved by the Dean of Students and must also receive security clearance from the University’s Security Services before final approval is granted. In addition, proposals from student associations must be endorsed and recommended by their Staff Advisers before submission.
The circular also stated that all student associations are required to register annually with the Dean of Students Affairs and submit an updated list of their executive members. Any association that fails to comply will be deemed unauthorized to operate within the University.
The University Management warned that violations of these directives will attract appropriate disciplinary actions. Deans, Heads of Departments, and staff are urged to ensure that students are fully informed and adhere strictly to the new guidelines.
