In a recent statement, the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), has vehemently denied the presence of any fake professors within its ranks. The institution's Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Nnenna Oti, addressed the issue, dismissing the allegations as baseless.

According to Prof. Oti, the online report that suggested the existence of 11 fake professors at FUTO was fabricated, with the listed names found to be non-existent in the university's staff records. She pointed out that the university's autonomy allows it to handle matters related to its professors without obligatory reporting to external bodies.
