Gov. Sule Appoints Prof. Jega As Chairman Of Governing Council Of NSUK

 

In the exercise of his power as the Visitor to Nasarawa State University, Keffi, the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule has approved the appointment of Professor Attahiru Muhammad Jega as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the 5th Governing Council of the University.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the Government of Nasarawa State, Barrister Muhammad Ubandoma Aliyu indicates that Dr. Ahmad Gero, Alh. Shuaibu Abdullahi Kore, Mr. Thomas Ogiri and Hon. Mary Enwongulu are to serve as members of the 5th Governing Council.

 

Until his current appointment as the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Attahiru Jega was at various times the Pro-Chancellor of the Plateau State University, Bokkos and the University of Jos, and his last major appointment was with the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC where he served as the National Chairman.

The Nasarawa State University, Keffi, has had  5 Governing Councils, the 1st and 2nd Councils were chaired by the late Dr. Rilwanu Lukman, Bishop Hassan Mathew Kukah chaired the 3rd Governing Council, while Professor Emeritus David Adamu Baikie Chaired the 4th Governing Council.
