KIU Empowers Academic Staff through Strategic Capacity-Building Workshop

Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU) has successfully conducted a one-day intensive capacity-building workshop for its academic leadership, including Deans, Directors, Heads of Departments (HODs), and Level Coordinators.

The session, inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babagana Gutti, was designed to accelerate the university’s transition toward digital transformation, rigorous quality assurance, and enhanced research standards.

A primary focus of the workshop was the integration of the University Management System (SMS). Professor Gutti mandated all academic administrators to become proficient in this digital platform, which centralizes core academic and administrative activities to ensure institutional efficiency and transparency.

To elevate research quality, Dr. Silas Kiman led a technical session on Mendeley referencing software. He specifically urged newly recruited and young academics to adopt the tool to ensure:

The Director of Quality Assurance, Dr. Grema Mustapha, outlined the directorate's role as the university's "hub for quality monitoring." He emphasized that KIU’s strategic framework now prioritizes:

Research Integrity: Promoting ethical standards in data collection and reporting.

Community Synergy: Building stronger links between the university, its students, and the host community.
