Labour Party Criticizes Court Ruling on Peter Mbah's NYSC Certificate Forgery Case

The Labour Party has expressed its discontent with the recent ruling of the Abuja High Court regarding the NYSC certificate forgery case involving Enugu State Governor, Barrister Peter Mbah. The party's National Publicity Secretary, Obiora Ifoh, labeled the decision by Justice Inyang Ekwo as bizarre and unconventional.
In a statement, Ifoh highlighted that the ruling seemed to ignore crucial facts, including the matter being brought before the Court of Appeal in Lagos on the same day. He criticized Justice Ekwo for imposing a N5 million fine against NYSC and ordering it not to disown Mbah's allegedly forged certificate. The ruling claimed that Mbah not only served but also possessed a legitimate certificate issued by NYSC.

It highlighted the court's role in sustaining an exparte injunction that prevented NYSC from testifying during the tribunal, emphasizing that the ruling aimed to weaken the case of the Labour Party's gubernatorial flag bearer, Honourable Chijoke Edeoga.

The Labour Party warned that such a ruling could have far-reaching consequences and urged the judiciary to protect the will of the people expressed through the democratic process.
