National Open University of Nigeria Introduces Community Development Course

The National Open University of Nigeria has launched a new course, "Introduction to Community Development," designed to equip students with practical skills and knowledge to initiate and execute community development projects.

The course, compulsory for 300-level students, aims to promote social responsibility, community engagement, and societal well-being. Students will participate in interactive learning and hands-on practicum, including a community development project where they will identify community needs and work together to meet those needs.

The project requires students to develop a project plan, implement it, and write a report for grading. The course aligns with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and seeks to foster a spirit of collaboration and patriotism among students.
