NBTE Partners with China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance to Enhance TVET in Nigeria

The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the China-Africa Vocational Education Alliance, with the aim of advancing Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Nigeria.

Mrs. Fatimah Abubakar, the spokesperson of NBTE, shared this collaboration in an official statement provided to the media in Abuja on Monday. The China-Africa Alliance, a non-profit organization headquartered in Shandong, has teamed up with NBTE to bolster TVET programs in Nigeria.

The partnership is designed to encompass the review and enhancement of occupational standards, curriculum development, and the creation of training materials to elevate the quality of TVET programs. Furthermore, the collaboration will initiate capacity-building projects across different levels and dimensions.

Mrs. Abubakar highlighted that this initiative aims to foster institutional alliances between China and Nigeria, fostering joint development projects and encouraging the exchange of trainees.

The signing of the MoU was attended by key figures, including Zhang Yujia, the project coordinator for East and South Africa at the China-Africa TVET Alliance, Dr. Zakari Abdullahi, the Desk Officer for Research and Development at NBTE, and Aliyu Hassan, the Desk Officer for Digitalization at NBTE.
