Newgate College of Health Technology Clinical Practicals Conclude Successfully as National Professional Examination Progresses
The first phase of the 2025 National Professional Examination for the Public Health Technician and National Diploma in Community Health departments concluded today with the successful completion of the Clinical Practicals.
The exercise, conducted under the close supervision of moderators from the Council of Health Assistants/Technicians & Public Health of Nigeria alongside College officials, was judged highly successful. Both the Council and the College Management expressed satisfaction with the smooth conduct of the Practicals as well as the commendable performance and preparedness of the students.
The examinations now advance to the second phase — the pen-and-paper assessments — scheduled to commence tomorrow. This stage will rigorously test the students’ theoretical knowledge, complementing the practical skills already demonstrated, and further affirming their readiness for professional service.
Beyond being a key academic exercise, the National Professional Examination holds profound importance for the students. Success in the examination qualifies candidates for the award of their professional licences, granting them the legal authority to practice as Public Health Technicians and Community Health professionals across Nigeria. This licence not only validates their competence but also serves as a passport into the noble duty of safeguarding public health and serving communities.
In their remarks, the College Management encouraged the students to approach the next phase with confidence and determination. They assured the candidates of their full support and expressed optimism that this year’s cohort will sustain the institution’s proud legacy of academic excellence and continue its enviable record of outstanding success in national examinations.
With the Clinical Practicals concluded and the written phase set to begin, the College looks forward with pride as its students journey closer to becoming fully licensed professionals, prepared to make lasting contributions to the health sector.
