NSUK Celebrates Excellence at 2025 End-of-Year Get-Together and Staff Awards

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has successfully concluded its 2025 End-of-Year Get-Together and Staff Awards, an event that brought together teaching and non-teaching staff to unwind, relax, and celebrate the achievements recorded during the year.

The event was held on Thursday, 11th December, 2025, at the University's Assembly Hall.

In her welcome address, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, expressed profound appreciation to staff for their dedication and invaluable contributions to the growth and development of the University. She urged staff members to continue to distinguish themselves and serve as worthy ambassadors of Nasarawa State University, Keffi. The Vice-Chancellor also encouraged the university community to remain steadfast in prayers for the institution’s longevity, success, and enduring legacy.

The colourful event featured goodwill messages from heads of various university unions, a captivating performance by the University’s award-winning Theatre Arts Cultural Troupe, a comedy performance by MC E-Daniel, and a melodious saxophone rendition that added to the lively and cheerful atmosphere.

Participants were treated to an array of refreshments, while the event also provided ample opportunity for social interaction, relaxation, and dancing after a long year of official engagements.

A major highlight of the occasion was the presentation of awards in various categories to deserving staff members in recognition of their dedication, hard work, and commitment to duty.

Among the award recipients was Professor Moses Z. Zaruwa, who won the Award for Institutional Collaboration and Innovation. The Department of Taxation received the Award for Compliance with the Learning Management System (LMS), while the Information and Communication Centre emerged as the winner of the Award of Excellence for the Most Outstanding Faculty/Centre/Directorate. The School of Postgraduate Studies was honoured with the Award for Best Green Faculty.

In the staff category, Barrister Ramatu Ahmed Liman received the Outstanding Institutional and Compliance Award, while Zainab Ogbole won the Award for Exceptional Administrative Performance. Comrade Zubairu E. Adamu was presented with the Award of Excellence in Financial Management, and the Most Outstanding Personnel of the Year Award went to Muhammad Danlami Nasir. Dr. Yunusa Abdulkarim of the Faculty of Education received the Best Contract Staff Award, while Suleiman Awuna emerged as the Best University Library Staff.

At the faculty and committee level, the Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences won the Award for the Faculty with the Highest Number of Inaugural Lectures, while the Faculty of Law received the Environmental Sanitation Smart Department Award. The Senate Business Committee was honoured with the Outstanding Committee in the University Award.

In addition, commendation letters were presented to outstanding researchers in the University, while regular Senate attendees were also recognised for their consistency and commitment.

The End-of-Year Get-Together and Staff Awards ceremony served as a fitting conclusion to the 2025 work year, fostering unity, morale, and a renewed sense of purpose among members of the NSUK community.
