The appointments, confirmed by the Registrar, Dr. Bala Isyaka Ahmed II, are positioned as a deliberate recalibration of leadership capacity across key directorates, faculties, and departments—aligned with the institution’s ambition to consolidate its status as a competitive, 21st-century university.
Directorate Leadership
The Vice-Chancellor approved the following appointments to drive institutional strategy and programme delivery:
- Prof. Moses Z. Zira – Director, Brunon Holyst Institute of European Studies
- Prof. Mohammed B. Babanumma – Director, Institute of Legislative Studies
- Prof. Nachamada V. Bulawayo – Acting Director, ICT
- Dr. Daniel James Chikada – Acting Director, ISDEVCOM
- Dr. Ismail Yusuf Usman – Acting Director, Centre for Historical Research & Heritage Preservation
- Dr. Comfort Ayinekweyi Adokwe – Acting Director, Centre for Gender Studies

Tenure Structure
According to the Registrar, Directors of the Brunon Holyst Institute of European Studies and the Institute of Legislative Studies will serve two-year terms. Deputy Directors, Deputy Deans, and other appointees will serve one-year tenures, subject to review.
