Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has been awarded the prestigious Nigeria Govtech Public Service Award as the Best State University in Innovative Use of Technology for 2024. The accolade comes following a nationwide nomination and voting process across various media platforms.

Additionally, the Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, was honored with the Distinguished GovTech Trailblazer's Award. This recognition is attributed to her exceptional leadership in advancing GovTech initiatives and digital governance within the university, significantly contributing to the Federal Government's digital transformation agenda in the public sector.

The award ceremony took place at the NICON Luxury Hotel in Abuja on October 11, 2024, organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms. In her acceptance speech, Professor Liman expressed gratitude to the organizers for recognizing the university’s efforts in promoting digital governance.

Since assuming office in April 2024, Professor Liman's administration has prioritized a purposeful Digital Revolution aimed at integrating cutting-edge technology into teaching, research, and innovation. She highlighted several achievements resulting from collaborations with the university's ICT Directorate, including enhancements to the student portal for improved service delivery, an upgraded student payment system to minimize financial leakages, and advancements in the online Post UTME screening and admission processes.

Notably, the university upgraded its internet capacity from 156 Mbps to 1 Gbps and introduced Computer Based Tests (CBT) across various platforms. These technological advancements have not only addressed unethical practices within the university but have also improved the revenue base, ensured the integrity of academic records, and enhanced transparency in examination administration.

In closing, Professor Liman thanked the Bureau of Public Service Reforms for facilitating the process that led to NSUK's recognition and emphasized her commitment to continuing the digital transformation efforts within the institution.
