The National Teachers' Institute (NTI), Kaduna, has commenced the training of 50 aircraft maintenance instructors of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in the second batch of its capacity development programme.

Declaring the training open on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the NTI SMASE Red Chamber Hall, the Director and Chief Executive of NTI, Professor Sadiya Sani Daura, stated that the workshop was designed to equip participants with modern instructional strategies, improved assessment procedures, and innovative teaching aids for effective classroom and workshop delivery.

Professor Daura described the collaboration between NTI and the Nigerian Air Force as a reflection of the Institute’s commitment to human capital development and institutional excellence.

“As a foremost teacher training institution, NTI remains dedicated to supporting national agencies in building the human capital required for professional excellence, safety, and national development. Through this partnership, we reaffirm our belief that effective instruction remains the bedrock of sustainable institutional growth,” she said.

She further emphasized the importance of continuous professional development to meet evolving trends in teaching methodologies, evaluation techniques, and competency-based instruction.

In his opening remarks, Group Captain Vincent Olalekan Babalola, Coordinator of the Nigerian Air Force Type-Rating Centre, Kaduna, represented by Wing Commander Michael Aransiola, commended NTI for its commitment to training excellence. He congratulated the participants on behalf of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Bala Abubakar, and urged them to focus on their studies and apply the knowledge gained effectively.

Earlier in her welcome address, Dr. Oyedeji Mobolaji Omobola, Director of the Academic Services Department, said the success of the first batch of the workshop in July 2025 reaffirmed NTI’s commitment to professional advancement. She noted that the second batch would build on the achievements of the first, further enriching the pool of skilled instructors.

The training, themed “Enhancing Instructional Techniques and Assessment Skills for Effective Air Operations,” runs from October 20 to November 1, 2025, and aims to enhance participants’ pedagogical competence, instructional delivery, and innovative teaching approaches to improve learning outcomes in the Nigerian Air Force.
