The Chukwumemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU)’s Research Management Office (RMO) has initiated a three-day training program aimed at equipping staff members with the skills necessary for writing compelling grants and research proposals.
The training sessions commenced simultaneously at the University’s Faculty of Agriculture Conference Hall and the Centre for Entrepreneurship Studies, Igbariam campus, on Wednesday.
Themed "Grantsmanship and Research Proposal Writing," the 3-day training workshop is designed to enhance the research capabilities of the university staff.

The training workshop featured distinguished resource persons, including Professor Kayode Akinyemi, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Research) of the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta, Ogun State, and Professor Olukoya Ogen, Director of Research and Innovation Management at the Osun State University. These experts shared innovative strategies and best practices for conducting enriched and efficient academic research.
Participants were urged to leverage the knowledge gained from the workshop to develop high-quality research proposals that contribute to curriculum reform and address real-world challenges.
The training workshop received commendation from the University Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kate Azuka Omenugha, for creating a conducive environment for capacity building and research development.
