Taraba State University Jalingo Hosts Digital Bridge Institute for 2nd Phase of 2024 ADEPTI Programme

Taraba State University Jalingo, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Professor Sunday Paul Bako, welcomed officials from the Digital Bridge Institute (DBI) for the second phase of the 2024 ADEPTI programme.

Representing Professor Bako, Deputy Vice-Chancellor Dr. Reuben Jonathan alongside Prof. Mahmud Hamidu Umar DVC Development Services, Dr. Isreal Habibu Digital Liberian, Director ICT Prof. Joseph U. Okeke received the DBI team on campus.

The ADEPTI programme, designed to enhance digital literacy and promote technological advancement, has entered its second phase, building on the successes of the inaugural phase. This collaborative initiative seeks to bridge the digital divide and foster innovation in Nigeria.

Prof. Jonathan, in his remarks, expressed appreciation to the DBI officials for their partnership and commitment to capacity building in the digital space. He emphasized the significance of such programmes in equipping individuals with the necessary skills to thrive in today's technology-driven world.

Prof. Joseph U. Okeke, the Director ICT, emphasized that the workshop is tailored to improve participants’ proficiency in Data Analysis using SPSS and Internet and Office Productivity Tools (IOPT). These skills are vital in preparing both teaching and non-teaching staff for the 21st-century educational environment, advancing the university’s goals for impactful education and mandatory work-readiness programs.

Professor Bako, through Prof. Jonathan, reaffirmed the university's commitment to fostering strategic partnerships and collaborations that promote academic excellence, innovation, and community development.

The  Training Coordinator (ADAPT) Mr. Ohia Omiri (JP)  stated that workshop which was primarily designed to improve the participants’ knowledge of two digital courses namely; Data Analysis using Statistical Package  Social Science (SPSS) as well as Internet and Office Productivity Tools (IOPT), also aims to provide the University's teaching and non-teaching staff with 21st-century skills required to drive the Education for Impact goals and comprehensive, mandatory work-readiness programmes.

The 2024 ADEPTI programme promises to be a pivotal step forward in Nigeria's quest for digital transformation, and Taraba State University Jalingo is proud to be at the forefront of this initiative.
