UNIDEL Department of Education Hosts Practicum Seminar for Final-Year Students
The Department of Educational Foundations, Guidance, and Counselling at the University of Delta (UNIDEL), Agbor, has concluded a practicum seminar for its final-year students following their six-week work experience in educational counseling across schools in the state.

The seminar, moderated by Mrs. Rebecca Egwuenu, provided a platform for students to share their field experiences and discuss the challenges they encountered. Each student presented their findings and addressed questions from their peers during the session.
A panel of judges, including Dr. Ini Imafidon, Mr. Dumkelechukwu Obed-Ohen, and Miss Precious Nwuzu, evaluated the presentations, while key academic figures such as the Dean, Faculty of Education, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Omumu; Head of the Department of Education Foundations, Dr. (Mrs.) Mary Asabor; and the Course Coordinator, Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Chenube, attended the event.
Speaking to UNIDEL Media, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Omumu emphasized the importance of the practicum seminar as an integral part of the curriculum, aimed at equipping students with practical knowledge and skills to handle real-world challenges.
“The students have demonstrated substantial knowledge and skills in counseling,” Dr. Omumu remarked. “I am impressed with their performance and encourage them to continue striving for excellence to enhance the educational system.”
The seminar marked another milestone in the department’s efforts to bridge academic learning with practical application, preparing students for impactful careers in education.
