The University of Uyo (UNIUYO) has announced a temporary adjustment to its Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination policy for the upcoming first-semester examinations.

The change comes as the university continues upgrading ICT facilities at both its Annex and Main Campuses to improve digital examination capacity.

According to an internal memorandum signed by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Prof. Dianabasi Eduwem, the adjustment is necessary to align examination delivery with the current capacity of the upgrading facilities.

The new examination mode guidelines for the 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 first-semester examinations are as follows:

  • CBT Mode: All Year 1 and Year 2 courses with a class size of 200 students and above.
  • Non-CBT Mode: All Year 1 and Year 2 courses with a class size below 200 students.
  • Non-CBT Mode: All courses from Year 3 to Year 5, regardless of class size.

Heads of Departments have been instructed to identify and submit a list of all courses eligible for CBT (Year 1 & 2 courses with 200+ students) to the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) by Tuesday, 11th February 2026.

The university emphasized that this temporary measure prioritizes larger, foundational courses for the CBT platform while ICT infrastructure upgrades are completed. Management thanked staff and students for their cooperation during this transition.
