In a recent forum in Ilorin, Professor Noah Yusuf, a sociologist at the University of Ilorin and Vice Chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, urged parents and guardians to exercise caution when purchasing high-end phones for their children and wards. The professor emphasized the potential risks associated with owning expensive devices, including increased susceptibility to criminals such as kidnappers and robbers.

Drawing attention to a specific incident, Professor Yusuf recounted the story of a female student who fell victim to robbery twice due to possessing highly expensive phones. He explained that after the first incident, the parents purchased an even more expensive phone for her, only for it to be stolen again by her boyfriend.
