11th All Africa University Games: Organizing Committee Conducts Inspection at Lagos State University
The Organizing Committee for the 11th All Africa University Games, comprising officials from the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) and the Nigerian Universities Games (NUGA), has embarked on a week-long inspection visit to Lagos State University (LASU).
The Organizing Committee for the 11th All Africa University Games, comprising officials from the Federation of African University Sports (FASU) and the Nigerian Universities Games (NUGA), has embarked on a week-long inspection visit to Lagos State University (LASU). This visit marks the committee’s second inspection tour of LASU in preparation for the upcoming games, which will be jointly hosted by LASU and the University of Lagos from September 20th to 29th, 2024.
Led by Dr. Mohammed Bawa, the Acting President of NUGA, the team arrived at LASU at 10:00 a.m. Their first order of business was a meeting with the Local Organizing Committee at the Vice Chancellor’s Conference Room in the Senate Building. Chaired by Prof. Adenike Boyo, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Administration and Alternate Chairman, the meeting allowed the visiting team to exchange information with the various sub-committees of the Local Organizing Committee. This collaborative effort ensures effective planning and coordination.
Following the meeting, the team conducted an inspection of facilities at the Sports Centre, as well as the Femi Gbajabiamila Conference Centre and the Students’ Hostels. The thorough assessment aims to ensure that all necessary arrangements are in place for a successful and memorable sporting event.
The 11th All Africa University Games promise to be a celebration of athleticism, camaraderie, and academic excellence, and the joint efforts of LASU and the University of Lagos will contribute to its success.
