Abdulkadir Kure University Minna successfully conducted the bid opening for the second batch of its 2024 capital projects on December 5, 2024. The event, which emphasized the university’s commitment to transparency and infrastructural development, attracted attendees from various associations, bidding companies, and the university’s governing board.
The Vice Chancellor of the university and Chairman of the Tender Committee, Professor Mohammed Aliyu Paiko, presided over the ceremony. In his opening address, he reiterated the university’s dedication to ensuring that all projects meet established benchmarks and standards, underscoring the importance of fair and transparent processes.
The second batch of capital projects includes key initiatives critical to the university’s growth, such as:
- Provision of water supply
- Procurement and installation of library books and journals
- Installation of a wireless conferencing solution
- Establishment of a university clinic
- Setup of campus network infrastructure and fiber optic distribution (LAN/WAN)
- Furnishing of the administrative block
- Provision and setup of medical laboratories
After the opening remarks, Professor Paiko invited Mr. Maude Aliyu, the Procurement Desk Officer, to further discuss the process. Mr. Aliyu reassured all participants that the bidding process would adhere strictly to predefined benchmarks, ensuring full transparency and accountability.
The event also included contributions from Architect Jibrin Hassan, a representative of the Nigerian Association of Architects, Niger State Branch, who emphasized the need for the committee to account for the impact of inflation on the cost of goods and services. He recommended that the committee consider these factors when evaluating bids, to ensure project feasibility.
The bid opening process was efficiently managed by Mr. Mohammed Mahmud Zago, the Adjunct Procurement Officer, who ensured that all bids were handled in a systematic and professional manner.
