Ambrose Alli University (AAU), Ekpoma, Edo State, has announced a vacancy for the position of Registrar following the decision of the Governing Council at its 237th Regular Meeting held on Friday, August 15, 2025.

Duties of the Registrar
The Registrar is the Chief Administrative Officer of the University, responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administration of the institution, except for financial matters under the purview of the Bursar. By virtue of the position, the Registrar serves as Secretary to Council, Senate, Congregation, Convocation, and their committees.

Conditions of Service
As stipulated by the University Law (as amended in 1999), the Registrar shall hold office for a single term of five years, subject to terms and conditions stated in the letter of appointment.

Qualities of the Candidate
Applicants must be persons of impeccable integrity with the ability to command the respect and trust of staff and students. Candidates should demonstrate drive, initiative, foresight, and a strong understanding of the complexities of higher education. They must also be capable of articulating the vision of the University and promoting a vibrant Registry. A statement of vision and mission for the University, not exceeding 500 words, is required.

Qualifications

  • Must be a graduate of a recognized university in a relevant discipline
  • Higher qualifications will be an added advantage
  • Must be a Deputy Registrar in a recognized university
  • Must be ICT-compliant
  • Must not be above 60 years of age at the time of assumption of duty

Remuneration
The position attracts consolidated salary for University Registrars with NUC-approved benefits and allowances, alongside entitlements as approved by the Governing Council.
