The Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) Branch of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) has reiterated its dedication to professionalism, administrative excellence, and unity among members during its 2025 End-of-Year Get-Together held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Fresh Spring Hotels and Towers, Uyo.

The Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) Branch of the Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators (ANUPA) has reiterated its dedication to professionalism, administrative excellence, and unity among members during its 2025 End-of-Year Get-Together held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Fresh Spring Hotels and Towers, Uyo.

Representing the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Nkanikpo I. Ibok, commended the branch for its maturity, ethical conduct, and contribution to institutional stability. He reaffirmed Management’s commitment to initiatives that enhance staff development and institutional excellence, urging administrators to remain dependable partners in advancing the University’s mission.

Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Academics, Prof. Iniobong Umotong, highlighted the crucial role of professional administrators in sustaining academic quality, noting that efficient administration underpins teaching, research, examinations, and degree conferral. He applauded ANUPA–AKSU for promoting collaboration and professionalism across the University system.

In the keynote address, Registrar Dr. Ebi G. Eno-Ibanga FNIM described the Registry as the “heartbeat” of the University, essential for governance, academic operations, and student services. She emphasized compulsory ANUPA membership for professional administrators, urging members to uphold integrity, diligence, confidentiality, and continuous professional development, while embracing innovation, resilience, and lifelong learning to meet emerging administrative challenges.

Reflecting on ANUPA’s evolution, Former AKSU Registrar and Second National President of ANUPA, Mr. John E. Udo, praised the branch for aligning with the association’s founding ideals of professionalism, ethical conduct, and capacity building. He encouraged members to preserve ANUPA’s legacy through lifelong learning and adaptability.

ANUPA–AKSU Chairman, Mr. Unwam Inyang, highlighted the branch’s achievements in 2025, including increased member participation, strengthened coordination, internal peace, establishment of standing committees, e-learning initiatives, successful Executive Masterclasses, and enhanced national engagement. He outlined plans for 2026, including advanced masterclasses, workshops on emerging administrative issues such as AI and cybersecurity, ethical compliance, and deeper collaboration with ANUPA National.

Additional speakers included Mrs. Immaculata Effiong, Director and Secretary of the School of Postgraduate Studies, who emphasized the importance of emotional intelligence alongside technical competence in university administration.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Deputy Registrar and Get-Together Committee Chairman, Mr. Akaniyene Ibanga, acknowledging University Management, guest speakers, ANUPA executives, and members for their active participation. Senior administrators and members across all Directorates attended, with the unveiling of the 2026 ANUPA–AKSU Calendar as a key highlight.
