Bauchi Fedpoly matriculates third set of 100 students affiliated with ATBU

The disclosure was made by the Rector of the Polytechnic, Malam Sani Usman, during the matriculation ceremony of the students held at the School.

Represented by the Director of Academic Planning, Mr Salihu Chimo, the Rector said that the programme is affiliated with the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU), Bauchi.

He explained further that the programme was conceived about four years ago to enable the Polytechnic students, particularly those that had completed their National Diploma programmes and want to have degree qualification because of issues of dichotomy.

“We brought the idea so that we can train our students in conjunction with ATBU, and so far, the programme has been going on smoothly without hitches,” he said.

Also speaking, the Vice Chancellor ATBU, Professor Muhammad AbdulAzeez, said that a review of the last Three sessions had proven that the University did not make a wrong decision in bestowing its confidence in the Polytechnic.

He, however, called on the management of the Polytechnic to keep to the terms and conditions of their collaboration and not to disappoint the University at any point in time.

Represented by Professor Mansur Malunfashi, Chairman, Centre Screening Committee, ATBU, the VC congratulated the newly admitted students for securing the admission and warned that the institution has zero tolerance for all kinds of vices.

He says, “Anti-social behaviours such as cultism, examination malpractice, sexual harassment, drug abuse, indecent dressing, vandalism and truancy are deviant behaviours.”

He added, “Our duty here is not only to give you access to knowledge, but also to help mould your character so that you become responsible citizens of our nation.”

“Those who are too arrogant to conform to this will be shown the way out,” he said.
